In January, the HBO Max series The Last of Us premiered. This series is based on the video game The Last of Us and focuses on the story of Ellie and Joel. Joel was in charge of moving Ellie to the west, but this task will not be easy at all. It turns out that the game takes place in the United States devastated by a pandemic for more than 20 years.
This pandemic is caused by a fungus, cordyceps, which turns humans into zombies. A curious fact is that this virus exists and degrades the exoskeleton of insects to colonize them.

At Johns Hopkins University, a study was conducted to find out the effect of a virus called ATCV-1 on the human brain. The result of the study showed that those who were infected with said virus had a 10% slower response to the attention test.
Before, they planned to make a movie about the game. However, they have noticed that if they were to summarize the entire story of the game to adapt it into a movie, many of the details that have turned the game into a masterpiece would be lost.
The actress Bella Ramsey suffered a lot of criticism from the public, because they did not believe that she was similar enough to the video game character. Personally I think that the ability to interpret the essence of the character is much more important than the appearance of the actor and that the actress has managed very well to interpret the soul of the character.
Many feared that the series would go on too long like The Walking Dead and lose its essence, but the series is scheduled to have two seasons, the first based on the first video game and the dlc. And the second season will follow the story of the second installment of the saga. Although Neil Druckmann stated that several episodes will deviate from the game's original story.
The series will also feature Gustavo Santaolalla, the composer of the music for the video game. He will not only bring the songs from the game, but also create new ones in the same style to further deepen the viewer's immersion.
